Fundraising Activities
By July 2011, $250,000 has been raised for the MSRI. Fundraising events included an internationally known pianist concert and many individual contributions in honor of Dr. Greenstein’s work. This money was used to obtain the laboratory space, design the lab, order the casework (lab benches etc) and some basic pieces of research equipment.
Donations are now being solicited through letters to past and prospective donors. In addition Dr. Greenstein is busy writing and submitting grants to various segments of the scientific and business community.
Within the next three years the fundraising goal of the MSRI is $2 million dollars. While this may seem a lofty goal, raising this amount will allow for the hiring of at least one additional PhD researcher, obtaining the necessary equipment to complete Dr. Greenstein’s research goals and to ensure the future stability of his research efforts.
Message from Dr. Greenstein
Curing MS is my life’s work. As you know, MS not only changes the lives of those affected by it, but it also touches the lives of their families and friends. My mission in founding the Multiple Sclerosis Research Institute (“MSRI”) is to FIND the cause, STOP the progression and CURE the disease so that those with MS, as well as future generations, can enjoy a life free from its symptoms.
